Photography has been a lifelong source of friendship and adventure for me and I've been learning the craft since I was a kid. I photographed my first wedding when I was still in college and now I'm in my 10th year of doing this full time. I've photographed over 500 weddings as far away as Hawaii and India but mostly in the Nashville area.
I live with my wife Sam and 12 year old daughter Sophie in Brentwood. Aside from photography my favorite things in the world include songwriting, playing music around camp fires, laughing with funny friends over beers, exploring national parks and foreign countries with my family, kayaking in the summer, camping in the fall, and skiing in the winter. My favorite snack is popcorn. Sometimes I even stop by the movie theater to order it to go. I enjoy every minute biking with my daughter and reading to her at bedtime while simultaneously fending off her constant attempts to tickle me.
I don't take myself too seriously but I take wedding photography very seriously. The friendships I build with my clients are lasting and often lead to yearly get togethers for maternity, baby, and family photos. I'm so lucky that I have a job that adds so much purpose and meaning to my life and it just happens to be a ton of fun!
Vibrant Color & Gorgeous Lighting
Day or night, rain or shine, indoor or outdoor you can be confident that the photos will be beautifully lit. We will document all of the elegance, the fun and emotion.
I work hard to capture beautiful portraits but the bulk of my deliverables feature real moments of laughter and tears because I know we look at photos not just to see what we did or what we wore but to remember how we felt. I'm proud of my lighting work and vibrant editing style but as you look through my photos and videos I hope they make you feel something. Hopefully some of that joy will rub off on you.
In addition to weddings I take on commercial shoots for well known companies like Discovery Channel/HGTV, Grand Ole Opry, Health Magazine but I'm most drawn to capturing real life, real love, and real laughter. I find the most meaning in my wedding work where the emotions are real and the work is personal. I am proud to be leaving a legacy of art and family history all around Nashville. My motivation is pure. I want to share my creativity and I want my clients to be ecstatic about their photos!
I'd love to hear about you and your wedding plans. If you would like to meet in person I'll be sure to bring along some sample albums. We could meet at your choice of coffee shop, ice cream shop or local brewery.
