Fun Wedding Photography in Nashville Focusing on People
Hi, I'm Matt!
Photography has been a lifelong source of friendship and adventure for me and I've been learning the craft since I was a kid. I photographed my first wedding when I was still in college and now I've photographed over 500 with some as far away as Hawaii and India though most are in the Nashville area.
I live with my wife Sam and 12 year old daughter Sophie in Brentwood. In addition to photography I enjoy writing and recording music. Nothing beats great conversation and laughter so I'm a big fan of the things that lead to more of it: road trips, campfires, craft beer and comedy. I love kayaking in the summer, skiing in the winter and traveling whenever I can. I play sports (especially soccer) but I don't watch much. My favorite snack is popcorn. I've been known to stop by the movie theater to order it to go. I enjoy biking with my daughter and reading to her at bedtime while fending off her constant attempts to tickle me.
I don't take myself too seriously but I take wedding photography very seriously. The friendships I build with my clients are lasting and often lead to yearly get togethers for maternity, baby, and family photos. I'm so lucky that I have a job that adds purpose and meaning to my life and it just happens to be a ton of fun!
I work hard to capture beautiful portraits but the bulk of my deliverables feature real moments. I work hard to capture the laughter and tears because I know we look at photos not just to see what we did or what we wore but to remember how we felt. I'm proud of my lighting work and vibrant editing style but as you look through my photos and videos I hope they make you feel something. Hopefully some of that joy will rub off on you.
In addition to weddings I take on commercial shoots for well known companies like Discovery Channel/HGTV, Grand Ole Opry, Health Magazine but I'm most drawn to capturing real life, real love, and real laughter. I find the most meaning in my wedding work where the emotions are real and the work is personal. I am proud to be leaving a legacy of art and family history all around Nashville. My motivation is pure. I want to share my creativity and I want my clients to be ecstatic about their photos!
I'd love to hear about you and your wedding plans. If you would like to meet in person I'll be sure to bring along some sample albums. We could meet at your choice of coffee shop, ice cream shop or local brewery.
