About Matt

Photography has been a lifelong source of friendships and adventure for me and I have been honing my craft since I was a kid. I booked my first wedding when I was still in college at the age of 21 and 500+ weddings later I still get excited about every shoot. They are all opportunities to make new friends, explore new locations and share my creativity. I'm proud to be a full-time, professional photographer in Nashville. In addition to wedding photography I take on commercial, fashion, editorial, and portrait work with local clients ranging from The Grand Ole Opry, The Nashville Symphony, The Frist Center for the Visual Arts and national clients such as Pierce Manufacturing, AEG Live Events, and many more. My photos have appeared in Town & Country, Health, The New York Times, Bust Magazine, Rangefinder and they can be found in the homes of many of Nashville's most interesting and talented people.

I love what I do and believe it shows in my work. The feedback I hear most about my photography is that my subjects all look so happy and the photos look so fun. Photography should be fun and and your wedding day should be full of joy and that should reflect in your photos. I love to laugh and love to make my clients laugh. I've been told that my excitement about the photography is infectious. I could tell you about my proficiency with lighting and posing but none of that is as important as knowing when to step back and just capture the emotion.

When I'm not working I enjoy every minute I spend with my 11 year old daughter Sophia, traveling with my wife Samantha, playing tennis with my dad, a glass of wine with my mom, and playing music with my brothers. I love any excuse to get together with friends around a camp fire, canoes or craft beer. Even though I love writing music, recording, and making beats, I mostly listen to NPR, audiobooks, and comedy while I'm editing photos. This year I turned 40 and my mid-life crisis has included joining adult softball and soccer leagues and doing a daily cross-fit workout but no new sports car for me.

Thanks for checking out my site! Feel free to contact me anytime to ask me anything.
